Native Plants
Teton County is home to over 1,200 native plant species. These are species that have developed symbiotic relationships with wildlife over thousands of years without human involvement. From food sources to habitat, native plants are an integral part of overall ecosystem health. Teton Conservation District encourages the use of native species. Teton Conservation District and partners developed the Teton County Native Plant Species List. The list includes 267 species, featuring 13 characteristics per species including duration, life form, growth form, fire resistance, toxicity, and soils. This list was created in 2008. A new list is being compiled.

Native Plant Resource Guide
With a grant from Teton Conservation District, The Nature Conservancy, Wyoming produced the Native Plant Resource Guide. The guide is intended to introduce residents of Teton County and the Greater Yellowstone region to basic best practices for native plant landscaping and restoration.
